Print one record based on selection of asset number

I have my database set up but I only want to print the single record associated with the ID number for a record. Say I need to print the information for asset number 7708. I want to enter 7708 and then select print (somehow) and only the information for that asset number prints with the asset number, printer type, IP address for example.


I attached a screen shot of my table for reference.

I can print all the records without any problems but I only need to print one at a time when needed.

You could also base the report on a parameter query.

Ok so I create another form based off my original form?

Not if you already have a form displaying the record you want to print. Just use OpenReport with that wherecondition.

I couldn't figure out what the coding was referring to, so I just kept fiddling around with the button tool and found a print button! I put that nto the form and it works perfect! See screen picture I attached.

My next question. I have the database setup and printing a single record while I am in Access, so how do I make, save, publish or configure it so that an end user can use it without having access to the tables? Is there a Access viewer they can use?

You can hide the Nav Pane, though a knowledgeable user can still get to it. There is a free runtime version of Access available from MS, and if memory serves the user can't get to the Nav Pane in it.
