    Count - Sum Total a record is modified

    In my access database I am using a form and at times a record may need to be updated multiple times. Is there a way to track and count how many times a record has been modified? I already track the last modified date and time.
    I searched and was not able to locate what I am trying to do, and maybe my search term was not exactly correct.

    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    What you want to do maybe is an audit trail or log. Here is one http://allenbrowne.com/AppAudit.html

    Otherwise, code in table BeforeUpdate data macro or form BeforeUpdate event procedure could increment a number value in a field in the table.

    code in form BeforeUpdate event procedure could increment a number could work but i am not sure how to get this to work correctly. I get error 2766 - the object doesn't contain the automation object

    i am trying to run macro
    SetValue
    Item = [Raw Data Table - Record Store]![Update Counts]
    Expression = [Raw Data Table - Record Store]![Update Counts] + 1

    In the form's BeforeUpdate event you can call a macro.

    DoCmd.RunMacro "MacroName"

    Using a macro to populate a field I think requires SetValue action.

    I use only VBA.
