Question Designers Do You Use Pivot Tables in Yoiur Access Reports?

I have created a filtered Pivot Table form and placed into a subreport. I'm having problems getting the filter to work within the report!

I have a Pivot Table form with filter fields for:
    - Region (i.e. North, South, East, and West)
    - Sales Managers within each of those regions

I have made it a subreport in an Access 2010 and linked:
    - the Parent report's Region field to
    - the Child report's Region field

I expect the report to provide a different pivot table for each Sales Manager within the region.

When I do Print Preview, the report shows multiple pivot tables (expected result), but the data remains the same on all pivot tables (instead of changing for each Sales Manager) like the filter isn't working.

I'm hoping I don't have to create a separate form for each filtered pivot table I need in the report.

    Any ideas?

I try to avoid pivot tables entirely. To me, it usualy makes as much sense as mail merge. There will always be an exception and if it is easier (and acceptable) to do so then, by all means, use them. We are working within a relational database so I believe it is our job to black box that kind of stuff.

I have never even used pivot table/chart/form. Be aware, Access has removed capability of creating them from 2013.

If the Master/Child links properties don't work, then I guess pivots were not intended to work as sub form/report.

Print Preview is not intended to be dynamic and interactive. What happens in Report View?

Thank you for your reply. The same thing happens in Report View as in Print Preview - multiple pivot charts but data remains the same on each one.

I find it interesting that so few people use Pivot Tables and Pivot Charts because they are an awesome way to summarize and analyze data.

I guess depends on the data you have to deal with. I've never even needed CROSSTAB queries. You might try CROSSTAB.
