    Let me further explain please. My main form is linked to a table that has a cbo box and fields from the table to identify the employee. I have a subform that is formatted as "tab control" . . . the subform's source is a query, but data entry I necessary to return entries to a table. Sorry if I wasn't clear at first.

    Ok, this kinda of contradicts the instructions given earlier to use a query with a "total" calculation. According to the link . . . all "total" queries are "read-only. Thanks, I've recreated a different form that is more in line with what I need, but have a few questions regarding data entry and cbo which I'll submit in another thread.
