No.....I should not have said it like that. What it is, is that there is a list of efquipment that certain employees need to be licensed on but sometimes equipment "goes away" or is no longer part of our PREPO list, so in these cases we need to keep them on the training record in case the equipment comes back but don't want them to show on the license. I put the criteria in the query for the license to only show an employee that is active then on the or line I put the criteria for archive to be false but it still brings the equipment up on the license.....

Good Morning! I'm sorry, I need to clarify. Ok. We have a list of equipment that employees need to be licensed on but sometimes equipment "goes away" or gets turned in and we no longer need to have that equipment showing on their license. We want to retain the training records but just don't want it to show on the license. I put the criteria in for the active employee and that works great. Then I added the archive and archive date fields from the equipment table to the employee training table but for some reason it isnt updating when I check the archive box and input the date.....it updated in the equipment table and puts that equipment in the appropriate equipment archive report but it isn't updating in the training table. Is this not possible to do? I am probably making things harder than they need to be again and overthinking this....every time I think I am done with this database and then they want it do something else....LOL I really appreciate all your help. I will try to see if maybe the problem is with the fields that I added to the training report......have a great day!

Think I need the latest version of your db.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Yay! I figured it out! Somehow I changed the query where the report was originally pulling from so when I put the criteria in it wasn't working because it was pulling from the query that I had modified in the query builder. I don't really understand where that other query was coming from but I just went in from design view of the report to the record source (query builder) and deleted all fields and tables and attached it to the original query with the criteria's set and it works great! LOL Thank you again for all of your help! I am not going to say that I am done with the db because every time I do they want something else....LOL Have a great rest of the week and wonderful weekend!
