Mandatory Fields 7 Data Password Protections

Is there a way to make certain fields in a table or form mandatory before other certain fields can be completed?

I plan to build 3 different forms from 1 table, but I would like to make it mandatory that the fields in the 1st form are complete before the fields in the second and 3rd form can be completed.

Probably, but with code in the 2nd and 3rd forms. What does this have to do with Password Protections?

I am somewhat familiar with code from excel, and would lie to become more proficient with it in access, but as of now, I would not know where to start.

I would like to also imit the changes that can be made to existing records in my tables. If a user wants to edit a record, I would like to somehow have them prompted for a password. It could be upon opening the database or when opening a form, query, or table.

There are free examples of Password Protecting a db. Just ask Google.

Will do.... Any suggestions about requiring certain fields to be completed prior to others?

The database I am building will most likely shape out to be one large table because of the many 1-to-1 relationships that the underlying spreadsheets that I am pulling in have.

The information, though can and probably should be broken out into several other user forms. From my point of view it makes sense to have the system require certain information is completed prior to other info.

Rather than committing SPREADSHEET on your db I strongle recommend you read up on Normalization. 1:1 relationships are rare in a Normalized db.

So are you saying that I am on the wrong track here. Currently I only have one table in my database. I do see your point regarding the 1 to 1 relationships.

Would you suggest a different approach to requiring certain fields be complete before others?

Designing your db is beyond the scope of this forum. There are many ways to achieve what you are asking for but you will need to decide on the approach.
