    technically it is not solved, I worked around my issue, not actually solving it.

    What you initially asked for, you might get by setting a global or temp variable with the key of the newly added company, and having each of the other add screens default to that CompanyID. In order to set that field in the newly added Manager_section record, though, it will need to be bound to a control in the assManagers form. You can HIDE the control, but the control needs to be there.

    should I set it up like I initially had it? or should i continue to use my workaround solution? which would cause less issues in the future? or are they both feasible?

    Rule one - use what you know. Rule Two, if it's workable, don't mess with it. Rule Three, if you learn better, and your prior design is causing problems, fix it.
