Can others sign into the DB i have created and sign in using their windows login?



if so what is it that i need to do so that it also recognizes the privileges of the employee?

i havent load this on the server yet but i need to know this first before i do

User-level permissions have to be coded into the database - each form needs to be aware of what a user can or can't do.

There is some great code out there that allows you to pull the user information automatically off of the LAN, assuming that your users are already logging onto their computers. This avoids forcing them to log on AGAIN after they are already on your LAN.

If that's not the behavior you want, then you'll need to keep passwords in the file in some way. Check the Security forum - lots of info to get through.

that is what i want done but not sure how to get it done in this DB here - let me check the security forum also and see if can get it that way ..and if so i will close this as solved

ok i went thru that link you provided but unfortunately that attachment there will only log me in as a new user, and will not let me edit anything in it or even get it in design mode so i can see more of it (possible because i am using Windows 7?) i will close this post and post it in Security forum and again thank you for your assistance.

Once you add yourself, pkstormy's sample mdb should give you full access to tables and so on. Might be a trust/permissions issue.

how can i bypass that so i can edit it to suit our needs? i need to be the administrator of this DB and all who sign into it along with 2 other people will have administrator rights - and there are certain other privileges in the steps of this DB too
