Unhappy pre 1899 dates in access

We receive (and export) date fields from Uniface to Access and vice versa.
Uniface sends a date 0001/01/01 as a default to a null entry in uniface.

Access doesn't accept dates prior to 1899. Is there a way to get around this?

I can't get Access to accept a date value earlier than 1/1/100 (yes, year one hundred).

What is the import/export method - VBA code? Convert the value to/from 1/1/100.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
