    Yes, that worked. However, I cannot open tblROT5KHoses with Access 2007 but don't need to.

    Qty and UnitCost fields should be Number type not Text.

    Here is what I did with query.

    1. opened qryMsterROT5KHoses in Design View

    2. placed cursor in a blank Field cell

    3. typed ExtCost: [Qty]*[UnitCost]

    4. saved query

    5. opened query in Datasheet View

    6. the constructed field ExtCost displays in the sheet

    June!!!

    I got the caculation to work!! But I am getting and error now...but its Caculating!!! Here is the link on what I did...and yes it was VBA that needed to be done: http://allenbrowne.com/casu-14.html Here is the error:

    Run-time Error '2135':
    This property is read only and cant be set

    I dont know why its read only but I am sure I will find out...unless you can help with that too???

    VBA is not needed for the calculation.

    VBA is needed to save the result.

    There is no reason to save this calculated result but show your code for analysis.
