Question need help retrieving password from OLE object

I have obtained an ASP.NET website from my company and I need to gain access to the administrator password to edit the website. In order for this to happen I need to decode the password column which are set as an "OLE Object" in the master Access Database.

How am I able to decode the OLE Object and view the password for the administrator?

Can you explain how a password value is stored in an OLEObject field? OLEObject field is to store objects, not text.

I have no idea, I am an Access and ASP.NET novice. At least answer this though: When I double click on the OLE Object field I get an error window saying "There was a problem connecting to the OLE Server or ActiveX Control. Please restart the OLE Server outside of Access and try again."I didnt even know I had an OLE Server installed on my laptop... How do I restart the OLE server or restore connection to the ActiveX Control?

I guess you don't have an OLE Server and that's why you get the error message. I have never worked with OLEObject fields and have never built web database or data driven website. Also never used ActiveX controls. You are in territory I've never seen discussed in any forum. The original developer is not available to you?

This might be more of an ASP.net issue than Access.

I fear you have a lot of self-educating ahead of you or seek a professional consultant to untangle this. This link isn't specific to Access but is the only thing I found that references ActiveX and OLE together http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/libr...(v=vs.80).aspx
