Split database logic

I have read so many forums on spliting database performance but nothing seem to make sense.



if the front end is on the C drive and the Backend is on some other location (actualy in another state server) then why does it take forever to open 1 form with only 1 combo box that has the rowsource set when the form loads (8 mins to be exact).

What is the RowSource of the ComboBox? The speed of your Internet connection is perhaps 1/100th the speed of a LAN.

Yeah I trolled the forum yesterday and looked at some more websites that deal with this issue then I re-set my rowsource to load on click, that took the loading time to 30 sec but it will be a nightmare to input data especialy that they now want to use the database cross countries...lol with their crappy network.
