Thanks Smithse. Sadly there's something in there that Access 2003 doesn't like so won't fully run. What I have looked at is how it's structured, and I can see I think, how info from the login form is stored in the module. There isn't a corresponding Data Input Form and main data table, so I can't see how the stored information from the module is dragged into the main data table, or how the data table is linked to the employees data when an "Add New Record" button is pressed in the main data table's input form.
pbaldy - Do you mean altering the macro, or altering the code in the "GO_Click" code? I did try changing the macro, but it didn't seem to work for me.
I'll be following both development paths simultaniously, and see what I can learn from both.

I mean I'd alter the macro to hide rather than close the login form.

Thanks for the help guys. I've got the thing to work now...so on to the next stage, and to see my ambition exceed my abilities, and no doubt start new threads in the process.
