What is the size of your database? Access has a 2 GB limit.
Have you run a "Compact and Repair" on it to reduce the bloat, and try to correct corruption issues?
If that does not work, I would recommend creating a new blank database and importing all your objects from this database to the new one (that is how your copy your database in the event of corruption that cannot be fixed).

Size doesn't appear to be an issue.
I would recommend trying the suggestions I gave you in my prior response top address any corruption issues.

Do you mean creating a new table with the fields as per the original db or is there a simple way to export and reimport to another table db

First, try Compacting & Repairing the database and see if that corrects the problem.
If that does not fix the problem, then create a new BLANK database (with no objects at all). Then simply use the Import functionality to import all the other objects and modules from your other Access database (you shouldn't really have to manually recreate anything at all). Then use this new database instead of the old one.

What did you do to return that error?
That is the kind of error I would expect to see when importing an Excel file or Text file into an existing table, but not when importing all objects from one database into a new, completely blank database.

It sounds like you are trying to create a new TABLE, not a new DATABASE.

See here for instructions on how to create a new database in Access 2003: http://www.brainbell.com/tutorials/m...k_Database.htm

    JoeM

Created blank DB and just imported the table
    created a query
and then tried to create a report based on the query took me all the way through and error 'cannot create report'

Its a basic flat db with with cash amounts a few memos and a hyperlink - i've even restored to monday.

It holds all our credit control

It could be a problem with the Access installation on your computer (your Access itself may be corrupted).
Do you have another computer you can try it on? If it works there, then you will probably need to re-install Access on your computer.
