Replacing table in Access Via Excel

I have info in Excel workbooks coming from various individuals. I take bits and pieces of data from each and the update an Access DB. Is there a way to simply replace the table in Access without affecting the relationships that the current version of the table has?

If you can massage the data in Excel to have the corresponding table structure and formatting in Access, you can use the append query to add or append date to the exiting table.

    Hi -

SPW_12 is right you can do that, but I will qualify that by saying "It depends..."

By "replacing the table", I assume you want to replace all the data in it with new data. However, that would mean deleting all the data in it first, and if the relationships involving that table have "enforce referential integrity" turned on, deleting the data may not be possible.

Even worse, if the relationships have "cascade delete" turned on, then deleting all the data in the table could have unanticipated (and disastrous!) consequences.

Check the settings of the relationships first!

    John
