    Difficult Word/Access transfer

Okay, well actually it may not be difficult for some of you, but I was asked by my company to make a searchable database of 10,500 product data sheets by part number and type, and all the information that I need in the database is contained in the headers per file. They are NOT in forms, just in standard text within the header. I need to know if there was a way to automate the:
    1. Separation of information within the header
    and
    2. Opening and extracting data from all 10,500 of them sequentially and automatically.

There are common 3-character strings at the beginning of each part number, if that is helpful.
If you think you can help me and you need more information, please let me know. I'm just an intern right out of high school so this is just a bit overwhelming.

Can you explain this a little more please. What sort of file? What is a header?
If this helped, please click the star at the bottom left of this posting and add to my reputation . Many thanks.

Oh, sorry, I forgot to explain that, I knew I left something out.
It's from a Word document, and the data is not contained within fields, but I still need it broken up to put it within different fields in Access.

Where do you at with the database? Tables, Queries, Forms?
Can you post an example of the word doc? One page with the header some products??
Explain what you would manually (paper/pencil) do to parse the word doc?

I can't show you a specific example, but I'll show you a screenshot of a generic version of it.
I need the basic description, the rating, and the design number all in separate fields in access.
