I have a database full of users and the software license they have. I also have a new table of users requesting software.
The problem I'm having is trying to match up who has a license vs, who needs a licenss.
When access queries the two tables together it pops out a result for everytime that name is matched.
So if Sally has reqested 3 software (Acrobat, Snagit, Quicken), and has a license for 2 (MS Project, Quicken Tax) she will be in the results 6 times as to where I only want her showing up once when the two quickens match. Problem is the two databases do not have the data entered identtically as you can see by "Quicken", Vs "Quicken Tax" or the license DB will say "Acrobat Professional" and the request will be written as "Adobe Acrobat Pro"
I have over 3,200 licenses on file and over 4,000 request to filter through so far. Really hoping I dont have to do this one by hand.
P.S. Why people are not requesting software they have a license to is beyond me but it is what it is.
