Exclusive access 2003/2010 environment

We run on a network with some having Access 2010 and some using Access 2003. The application in question was created using 2003. When 2010 users attempt to open it (unless thjey are the first of the day) an error message appears indicating they do not have exclusive access and that changes may not be saved. After hitting enter about 10 times, the application finally opens and there are no further issues. How do I get rid of the annoying error message for the 2010 users?

Is this split design? Or are users are all opening the same file?

All users use the same file and it's only the users running 2010 that encounter the message.

I don't know that the message can be bypassed.

Having users run the same file simultaneously is usually a bad idea. You should explore splitting. Start with

We have two other db running with the same users and no such problems. I will look into the split however.

Yes, I have one small not split db with multiple users and no issues yet. That project has no code (macros or VBA). That's why I said 'usually'. It can work but when it goes bad it goes very bad.
