I am using access 2003 and would like to know how to increase the number of characters in a text field on a report. See attachment.

Try setting the Can Grow property to Yes.

The properties of both the report and query for those text fields are set to yes for can grow. I have come across this before but cant remember what the fix was. The answer came from this site only I think for forms.

Also check the Can Grow property for the section with the control.
