Sudden lock violation errors all over the database

I have not made an update to my database since 7/24. However, I do see that there was a Windows Update between Friday and today.

Forms that have been working fine for years are suddenly breaking at random places. Often it happens when a field has a drop down with a selection that resides in another table.
Queries are not executing correctly because of lock violations.

I tried Compact and Repair. I tried importing everything into a new database file.

There are multiple users in the database every day. They each have their own copy on the pc. I have my own dev/test version that I use. The problem is happening on both my version and the live version. I even went to my June 2024 update which definitely did not have this issue, and I got the same errors as the current version.

Here is a photo of the locking settings I have in the Client Settings. I have never made changes here. I do not know if these settings can be altered elsewhere.Click image for larger version.

If AV was the only change then why not disable it and re-test? That assumes you're not in a corporate environment that won't allow that. Other option might be to try it on a pc that has not had the update, or get IT to roll it back for testing. I know of no reason why AV should cause lock violation warnings, but in trouble shooting sometimes the first approach should be to eliminate what recently changed.

The windows updates that occurred were in the Definition category and not available to be uninstalled.

Can you get more specific on when the error occurs? Does it happen when you try to save the record on the form? You mentioned a dropdown box, does it happen when you click on that list or make a selection from that list (but before you save the record on the form)?

On the queries not working right, are these update queries or just select queries? Can you run those queries by themselves (not within the form)?

Is the backend SQL? Might be a locking parameter on there that is locking pages? Is it possible to make a test copy of the database, import all the tables to make them local access tables and see if you still get the locking errors?
