upgrade issue

Hi,

I have a .mdb file. In our server, the MS Access will be upgraded from MS Access 2016 to Office LTSC version , same for Excel and word, etc. But those business unit users still using MS Office 2013 and MS Access 2016. Let's say, I have a test.mdb opened in MS Office LTSC 2021 ( reference library get refreshed from 15.0 to 16.0). If the business users opened up the same test.mdb file later on, do you think they will encounter any issue?

nope. we have mixed versions and the old mdb runs fine.

Remember the old adage- always develop using the oldest version in use by your clients.
You MAY be OK but it depends whether you are using early binding with references to other Office apps.

Although version specific reference libraries for e.g Word/Excel are automatically upgraded from 15.0 to 16.0, that can't happen in reverse as 2013 cannot recognise/use the 16.0 refs

The alternative to prevent any issues is to use late binding instead of version specific references.

You haven't mentioned bitness as being an issue to have to worry about. Why are you still using MDB files?
