    Add an Attachment

    Hello,

I would like to add attachments to an attachment field from a form. I can double click the field name on the table to add them but I would really like to add them from the form. I have the fields on the form but they don't do anything when I double click or anything.

    Thanks,

I didnt create this db, but I do have the version that is not on the server and I can add attachments on the forms fine, but the one on the server I cant. I have no idea about the server side of access. obviously it has something to do with it.

Add the Form on Form.In view mode of form click at form will show you the nevigation pane above attachment fileld control.
Click at attachment icon(U pin ) Bwouse to file which need to attached. Click open to attach file. Many files can be attached Double click at attachment file to open attachment window to edit add, remove attachment. This will only work in 2007 and higher version Lower 2003 version do NOT have attachment field at all so you can not add any attachment.
Hope that will solve your issue.

yes the db is split and the tables are on the server. as soon as i change the forms data from local tables to server tables the attachment fields no longer allow me to add attachments and they also switch themselves to memo feilds. very strange.

It looks like that the version you are using at server is not 2007 and onwords. Lower version do not have attachment field hence the attachment field get converted to memo field. I had ckecked in 2007 version the attachment field works fine in split DB
