Importing data from Sharepoint list - HELP!

To start this off, I am a complete novice when it come to using Microsoft Access.

I am trying to import a list of items from SharePoint into an Access database.

Thew data appears to be moving over, it took quite a long time to import.

The progress bar appears to be 99.98% complete and I received an error message;

Cannot open database “. It may not be a database that your application recognizes, or the file may be corrupt.

What does this mean?

Please, experts of AccessForums, help me get this data imported.



Again, I am a complete novice. I’ll try to answer any and all questions, but please be patient with me.

Hi Everyone,

I did some internet sleuthing, and I think I tried to import too much data into this database.

I cut the data I’m trying to import by at least 75%.

The data is separated by dates, so I created 12 separate views in SharePoint.

And another error message after waiting a painfully long amount of time for the data to import.

Error message;

Could not find file “.

What am I doing wrong?

I’ve successfully imported this data from other years, following the same process I am using now.

What gives?

Please, experts of AccessForums, help me get this data imported.

Very hard to say without seeing the data but can you check for any bad data, like dates outside the acceptable range i.e. Jan 1, 202. I used to have similar problems exporting data like that from Access to SQL Server.

Check for bad data, got it.

Are there any other examples of bad data other than incorrect dates?

In my experience dates are usually the culprit, I used to sort ascending then descending each date field in the problem table to visually check them all; I guess you could write a query using dMin() and dMax() for each one to get the same result.

I'll export the SharePoint data into excel, and check dates.

I have no idea what the other fancy stuff is.
