Pull down filters for tables in datasheet view

I have 2 tables that have a common field(purchase order number). The fields in each table are formatted exactly the same (standard text field). When I view one table in datasheet view, I can pull down the filter and it will list all the different values that I can check or uncheck. In the other table, when I pull down the filter, it does not show any of the existing values. I must manually enter any value I am looking for.

Does anyone know why one table would show existing values and the other not?

    Thank you,

Sounds like one has a lookup set at the field level.

    See:

I would urge you to only use a form for entering data.

    No lookup fields

They're not lookup fields. They're just plain old text fields. I did find out why the values aren't showing though. It seems that the 'list' that shows from the pulldown, is limited is size. If there are too may unique values (in this case, over 1200), it will not show a list.

AFAIK, a combo box supports 65K of records. There is a timing issue in how long it tables to load the combo box. I have seen it wher when you try to scroll to the bottom you can see that it is still loading records. You just starting seeing the results before ever record is loaded.
