Customizing the Navigation Pane creats shortcuts??

I wanted to organize my tables/forms/queries into groupings that helped users know what to mess with and what not to. I was able to get them grouped like I wanted, but by doing so it actually created shortcuts to the actual objects instead of just moving them into different groups on the Nav Pane. Now I want to rename one of my forms and the only thing I can access to rename (via the nav Pane) is the shortcut. How do I rename the actual form and not just the shortcut point to it now?

Of course, 30 seconds after posting this question I fumbled upon how to do it . In the Nav Pane dropdown, just select Object Type instead of Custom.

A lot of developers don't want users to see the nav pane at all. The less they can get at beyond the forms the better. Some even hide the ribbon and serve up some other means of interacting. Those with too much curiosity and time on their hands can do a lot of harm.

Those sound like good options, I'll have to Google them to see how they work.

You might find my example app on ways of managing the application interface useful. http://www.mendipdatasystems.co.uk/c...ace/4594365418
Amongst other things it demonstrates how to hide the navigation pane, ribbon, taskbar and even the whole Access application interface
