Form will not save after adding a field

I have added a combo box field to a form, and when I try to close the form, it asks me if I want to save and I click yes. The form does nothing. Doesn't save, doesn't close, and I can repeat this process ad nauseum. Any ideas as to why the form won't save? I'm about 95% done with this database and can't finish until I figure this out.

There is something not right. When in design view, and you add any control, when you go to close it - there should of course be the save prompt and it should close.

I don't want to immediately say you have a corruption issue and get into anything too complicated. Try a sanity check; make a brand new form with just that same combobox and see if it closes ok. Perhaps there is some misunderstanding here.
