    Query Column Totals

I am working on a query and would like to sum the total of one of the columns. I have tried using the "Total" button, but that will only allow me to Count the items in that column. The items are numeric so I'm not sure what the problem is. I also tried the sum function within the query but I get a message that says. You didn't include [Column] as part of your aggregate function. Anyone know what the issue might be?

When using the Total button, you should be able to change from count to sum. If you cannot do it from the design view, I would switch to SQL view and alter it there.

You might also have to exclude certain fields because SQL will try to group by the other fields (such as your ID field) that are not counted or summed. Do you want the data grouped by a certain field?

Can you post the SQL text of the query and we can have a look in case that does not do what you want.
