Getting Data from a Web Based Application

I am about to develop an Access database that will use data from a web based application. This application can export data to Excel files. I am wondering what techniques might have been or could be created to automate this process and to what extent might it be automatable. For example, could Access be coded to login to a web application to retrieve data or (only) after data has been exported to select the exported file and import into Access?

Any thoughts and ideas would be appreciated.

See if this link re Yahoo is conceptually similar to your intent.

I made the change and got the following error message:

I'm very unexperienced in VBA, but if you can give me an idea I'll try it.

Also, do you think it's possible for Access to log into an application as opposed to just accessing "open" internet pages?
