    Compact & Restore

Hello! I have a split database. My question is where do I run the compact and repair option from to perform maintenance? Meaning do I run it on the back end, the front end? Matter of fact do I have to run this on the local machine front end copies as well..on each? Newb question. Thanks!

you can run it both if they start getting large. Take note of the size of a compacted db. If it gets 4,5 times normal, Id run compact.
I compact my master FE. then distrubute.
I have a list of all users, their network folders. I wrote code to copy the FE to all these. (an update if you will)

Thanks for that information. So once I compact and repair the FE I can then have the two users replace their FE on their machine with the DB file I just updated? Sounds great. If I understood you correctly you went even further by automating the process after a compacting and repair it will auto push to their folders and replace the old file? Awesome..How could I do that? lol

In the (click top left Office button), Access Options/Current Database tab, there is an option to Compact on Close you can use also that might work for you.
