Problem with Forms

Good day,
I have two problems with a main form with two sub-forms.


Social security number and wage rate from the main form are linked to the two subforms.
However both show up in one sub-form, but only one shows up the other, although the master and child fields are linked in both the subforms.

Another problem is if I copy and paste data directly into the table for the subform, I cannot see the data in the form even if I refresh the database.

Why use Wage Rate? The Soc. is enough to link the sub form.
are both sub tables using keys: SocSec,WageRate?

The main form is a table with Employees Data. One form is for entering pay increases into a table for tracking. The other form is for entering payroll data into the payroll table for calculations.

Yes it is still an open issue. Also the fact that if I copy and paste data directly into the table, it does not show up on the form later.
I use the copying and pasting as it is a lot of repetitive data and it is quicker. Also when I try to import the data it does not work so I copy.

Not showing up on the form - this would happen if the form is open at the same time as you doing the pasting. The form's data does not refresh itself, you must do it manually, either by hitting the Refresh (f5) button or by closing and reopening the form.

I agree with Ranman, why are you using the wage rate? If I understand it right, you select an employee on your main form, then the first subform is bound to the pay increases table where you maintain the employee's pay increases, and the second is bound to the payroll table where you adjust the wage? That doesn't make sense, the wage should be kept on only one table in the database. If both forms are linked to the selected employee's id (soc sec or whatever) then both subforms should show data for that employee.

Thanks I got the linked fields figures out. Mp problem persists :
I have a main form " employee records " and a subform "Salary Particulars"with payroll data. I call the combination form DATAENTRY.

When I post data direct into the table "Salary Particulars", the data does not show up in the form DATA ENTRY on the salary Particulay section. It does show up on the singular form Salary Particulars.

I need the data to show up in the DATAENTRY form.

Any help appreciated.

I tried pasting with the form closed and it still did not work. I removed and re-placed and it still did not work. I have attached the properties for both forms. Please tell me if there is anything wrong on the properties.

I would need to see more than just the properties, if you can post your database, with two employees, a couple of lines of salary data for each (not real) and what you are copying and pasting.

Once data is in a table and you open a form that shows that data, then there is no way possible that it can just not be there. A form shows what the record source is telling it to show, and if it tells it to show all data in a table then that is what is does.

- a new window will open
- browse to your file
- select Upload
