    Barcoding

I have a database that records product in our factory. The product comes in with a manufactures code which we use to keep track of the product. The product moves to different stations within our factory to be worked on, we have a pc at every workstation.
    My question is :
if I were to give each product a unique barcode could it be scanned at each workstation and uploaded to my current database so I could see at what stage/workstation the product is at, sometimes the product may have to go around the factory twice..so visit the same workstation 2 times, so I would need to differentiate if it was 1st time worked on or in second stage. I know and have tested working with barcoding but Any ideas or help on how to add/track this into my current database would be much appreciated.

in principle no reason why not. if the factory pc's have access rights to the server where your backend is located, a bit of code in the form or control after update event could update your back end with a log of its current location based on data relating to the pc that did the scanning and the time it was scanned.
