    Question SourceSafe 2016

I am a new access user and am teaching myself how to create a new database. I know that Microsoft stopped supporting Source safe in Access 2013 but my access 2016 is requiring it in order for me to save any forms I create. I can download templates that have forms and I can use them but it will not let me save a form I create in my own database.

the message is more about not being opened exclusively whilst tring to edit an object (table/query/form etc) - usually because someone else already has the db open - or you do - perhaps from another access instance or excel or some other system.

If code has failed and booted you out of access, the db may have been left in a locked state. In which case try using the windows task manager to close access down - and if not visible or won't let you, Logout or reboot.
