Unhappy Seems Data Got Mixed Up After A Text File Import Into A Table

Hello, I am really baffled and hope someone can help. I assign leads to a call center, so usually there is a long list of leads, which has the name for each one and the person I assigned it to. I assign the leads in Excel, and then save it as a tab delimited file to import the file into MS Access. Access is where I match up the leads to actual sales so that the people I assign them to can get credit and commission. This month I found that some of the leads I had assigned to one rep, in the database had been changed to another rep. I looked at my master file, the excel spreadsheet, and the names were still correct in there. Is there anything possible during the import process that would change the data like that? I'm completely baffled.

Could be an embedded tab you don't see.
i think it's better to use a delimited text file. This way you can see any errors.
If you can't use comma delim, then use | delim.

I can only help if you take my name off the leads list so I don't get called

Could someone have changed the names after the import in the database?

I promise you won't be on it

I am the only person with access to this database, I created it and maintain it myself.

You don't really need to go the tab-delimited export/import route. You can just import the Excel spreadsheet directly into an MS Access table (it could be a temporary one if you need to work with it a bit), or you could just link to it and then use a query to append the data to your Access table.

Just as an afterthought - did you take a look at the tab-delimited text file to see if it matched the Excel data? If it doesn't, you know the problem is in Excel, not Access.
