I am trying to create a field, that I will be using as my primary key, to hold number values that show a decimal point.



I'm sure I have tried every different field size and format combination but every time I enter the number i.e., 12345678.1 it automatically removes the decimal point leaving me with 12346578. I know there is something I am overlooking and I'm sure it is very simple, but could someone please tell me what it is because I am at my wits end.

I have also tried setting the format and decimal place options in the design view on the form I am trying to enter the data into. Still removes decimal place and reverts back to a whole number....grrrrrr!


OK.... I figured it out.....for forum purposes the answer was to make sure your field size is double.

Single, Double and Currency fields all accept a decimal value. Currency fields are limited to a maximum of 4 decimal places but not so for Single or Double. Just for the record.
