Changing the name of a category of a record in datasheet view

Is it possible to change a category in a table when it is in datasheet view? I noticed that the first name
for the category changes when going from datasheet view to design view on the same table.

This makes no sense. I thought they were always the same, but here they are not the same. So I will need
to change the first category name in a table in datasheet view.

I am not sure how to do it.

Any help appreciated. thanks in advance.

    Respectfully,

Do you mean change [category name] is the field name and you want to change the fieldname?
    or
[category name] is the fieldname and you want to change the value of the data in the record?

    [category name]
    ADMIN
    ADMIN
and change ADMIN values to a different text like: GENERAL

I mean the first option. I want to change the category name on the table in datasheet view.

As I said this is somehow not the same when the tables is switched to design view. The first category name (the value of the data is usually created by autonumber).

I have tried to change the category name (in datasheet view) and I can not do it.

I am not sure why. How do I do it?

Any help appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think that I was able to change the first category name in the design view of the table. It was easier that I thought.

I perplexed as to why MS Access 2010 let the names be different in datasheet view and design view of the same table.

    Why does it allow this?

It doesn't. What is does do allow you to change the title that appears at the top of the column when the table is in datasheet view. You do that using the "Caption" property of a field (design view). That is not the same as using different names in different views, though it may look like it.
