format UK Phone number

Hi Everyone


i am trying to format uk phone numbers by adding a space after the 5th digit

so for example
the phone number
12345999999

would appear as
12345 999999

where 12345 is the area code

i am completely stuck as to how to do this

I assume these are stored as text rather than numbers - if the latter you can just use the format function

but if you need to add a space, in a query you would use

formattednumber: left(phonenumber,5) & " " & right(phonenumber,6)
