Datasheet format when in Design View

I want to create a subform in datasheet format. It comes out correct when using the form view. However, when I go to fine tune the format and open the form in design view, it is no longer in datasheet structure and is displayed more columnar, vertically.

I can shift all the information around to get the structure to a datasheet view but there has got to be a easier way to adjust the format directly in the datasheet form.

    Thanks for the help,

    Greg

moving and resizing controls in the form designer has no effect on datasheet view - the only things you can do which will have an effect is format color/font etc - which you can do directly in datasheet view - right click on a field and select properties

in addition to Ajax's comments; the feature/purpose of the datasheet is its 'excel-like' features - - meaning the end user can drag columns around, widen columns etc...... so that design view is actually not an issue for these tasks....
