    Subforms showing as subreports!

    Hello all,

I have the strangest thing happening. While I am trying to lookup a certain value, the tree view shows my subforms as subreports! Therefore none of the fields are available to me.

I have tried removing them all then dragging and dropping the subforms back in, and they still appear as reports. Anyone have any thoughts on this? Also, these reports don't even exist in my db!

    TIA!
    Gina

But you have forms by those names?

'Strange' can often mean corruption. I don't have any other explanation.

Yes, those are my form names. I tried creating a new database and importing everything in, but the same thing happens!

    Thanks June!

I almost never use that tool so not very familiar with its quirks, but that one does seem very odd.

If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.

Follow up on this post - my research shows that I am not alone with this - I've read many other posts where once you get into more than 4 levels of subforms, it is a common problem. There is not easy solution. Best I came up with was manually entering the string such as: Forms![mainform]![subform1].Form![subform2]![field] continue as necessary to get all the way down to the field you want.

I've never gone more than 3 levels (form/subform/subsubform) and as stated, seldom use the tool anyway.

Thanks for the follow up - info nice to know.
