Error when pasting Excel file in MS Access 2010

When I am working in the tutorial which is shown in the below link:

when I copy from Clarksville.xlsx the employees names and try to
paste into a new Access database*.
It says:


Text is Too Long to be Edited


I am unsure what to do next to deal with this error. The internet says to increase the size of the cell
where the text is being pasted. I am not sure how to do that. I have tried several things.

How do I do that?

I think it is a new database since the Clarksville Ice Cream database already has an employee table.

Are you copying a single cell or a block of cells? (if copying a block, do one cell at a time and see when the error occurs)

go into design view for the table you are putting data into.
Modify the size of the field to the length you want, then close the table and save the changes.

It would help if we could see what you are copying.

I am just copying employees data from an Excel sheet. Nothing more. I agree I should increase cell size.
