Unhappy form not pulling database info

    Hello Folks,

i don't know how to word it properly but i'm going to give it a try.
i had a new IT position which require access skills but unfortunately never use access before, however. one of the forms we use is linked to a database and everytime you enter a new record does not pull up the data from the sql server database so the old guy used to turn on the database everytime they need to enter new record in order to view the information, Although i know its a simple thing to turn it on but i can't figure it out. please help!

when you are in the db, and dbl-click on a table, do the records show?

when you say 'turn on' , what does that mean?
usu. a db is on all the time.

Are you saying you want the form to open in edit mode but it currently opens in add "new" record mode? Are you just needing to open the form in edit mode so that you can navigate through the records?

i want it in add "new" mode as if i add a new record i should have it pops up in the other sub-form or tab. just to fix what i said earlier they are all sub-forms.
