    Scan Snap IX500 Scanner

I have a scan snap ix500 scanner that I use on a network.
I have a Microsoft access 2013 database that I have linked to a folder for each customer on the network.
You can go into the customer record and click on folder and it will open the folder on the network and display anything that has been scan into the folder for that customer
I would like create a button that would scan into the folder that is open.
or a button that would open the folder and scan into it.
I don't know if I can do this with scan snap since it is not a twain scanner. I do have a brother mfc-640cw which is a twain printer/scanner that I could use .

    Thank you Angie

I have used a custom Class that I purchased years ago to develop apps for scanning documents. Beyond purchasing some sort of class library that gives you API's, you might be able to do something with WIA. I think this is what is still used with Windows to get a handle on the TWAIN. This example looks pretty good.

I suppose button could open folder and open scanner controller software. Whether or not the app would 'know' about the open folder is another issue.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Maybe it is good enough to set the share as the default scans folder for the native app.
