Unhappy Universal path for DB link to excel file

    Dear All,

Hope you all are doing good.

I am very new to MS Access and want to explore its power. So guys need your help and guidance.

I am building a report with very large dataset using MS Access. All data are stored in Access file with queries and Tables. At present the DB is linked to my private computer but I need to send the final report and the DB to my clients system. As I don't have access to any shared path or drive I am confused how the Report will work as the connection path will miss match.

    I need Idea:
    1) How my client can run the excel report (connected to DB) sent as an email attachment
    2) If my clients download both the Excel Report and DB from email attachment and saves in his personal computer, how to automatically update the linkage path between excel file and DB.

Hope my request are clear. Need your expert suggestion.

    Many thanks in advance.

    Subhankar

This is an all-in-one db - not split except for the Excel?

Why is Excel involved? What do you mean by 'Excel Report'? Why not just an Access report for output?

I use VBA to change table links. But this is for linking to Access backend tables in a split db. Never tried with Excel link. https://www.accessforums.net/access/...nge-36552.html

If the files are copied into same path, such as at the C: root level, then no re-linking is needed.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.
