Access 2003 32 bit database in Windows 8.1 64 bit?

I sent a client an .mde made with Access 2003 32 bit.
She has Windows 8.1 64 bit.
When she tried to open it a message showed up: 'Can't open it because it's a 32 bit Application' (well that's how she described the message...).
Is this normal? Can't an Access 2003 32bit database run in Win 8.1 62bit?

What is 'Bing'? (Edit: ok I found it, it 's a search engine...)
If you mean if I searched it, I did. But I found only about Win 8 (not 8.1) saying that it works.

Here they say it works (though they 're not refering specifically to Win 8.1).

And as far as I know, it should - unless there are 32-bit API function calls as indicated by the referenced thread but that should not prevent the db opening.

However, I have no way to test Windows 8 or 8.1. If you want to provide db for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.
