    Syntax Error

Another one of my stumpers for the pros here on the forum. I would like to create sort now by Category of prearrangement and at need clients. I want it to list all prearrangements followed by at need clients. I understand “than” is the wrong syntax to use. In this case what would be the best way to do this? I have attached a screen shot of my query. Once again thanks everyone for their patience with me.

Can't see all of LastName Criteria. I suspect Category is the offender though. Your syntax appears to be off. Don't know what it is supposed to be.
"Prearrangement Than At Need" should be more like it or "Prearrangement" or "At Need"

    Explain!

Thank you for your reply. No basically what I want are clients to be sorted prearrangement A-Z last name than At Need A to Z last name that way my more used files Prearrangement are listed first. Hopefully I explained it better thank you for your help.

I don't know what Prearrangement is but why not sort ascending for Category? Then enter your criteria!
ONLY you are familiar with your db, we do not understand it. You need to explain better or else someone else will have to try and help you.

    If I understand correctly....

So the "Category" field contains "prearrangement" and "at need" values?

The first problem is that you have "Prearrangement Than At Need" in the Criteria row.

You would set the Sort row for the "Category" field to "Descending". (like the last name field - but without the criteria)
