Getting Rid of Empty Space

I've created a report containing a field which may not have information to display on the report once a query is run. This field has no other fields to the right or left of it, therefore the printed report shows a blank space between records. I would like to know how I can fill up this "empty" space with information from the next record. I've spent hours working with macros, expressions and code trying to do this ... it really can't be that hard, right?

Rather than trying to hide it, the "normal" solution would be to eliminate those records in the source query. Is that not an option?

The report is simply a contact list with phone numbers to include a field for mobile phones. The contact list needs to contain all records from the query, and many of those individuals do not have mobile phones. The mobile phone field sits directly below the phone field - all by itself (I know I could redesign, right?) - when it's empty, there's a blank line in between indvidual contact information.

In other database programs, i.e. FileMaker Pro, there's a simple check box for the section which deletes any blank space between records. This is the solution I'm looking for.

Ah, you said "between records" which implied it was a separate record (which a case could be made for). It sounds like the phone numbers are fields within the same record. Try making the textbox for it really tiny vertically, then set the textbox and section's Can Grow properties to Yes.
