Red face Subform greyed out and not accessible since update to 2013

    Good morning everyone

We have been using Access 2003 for 8 years and we're now updating to 2013. Wow, it's a big leap!

I've sorted out a few issues but I'm struggling with something......

When our users wish to place a new order, a macro runs to open up a "New Order" form. This form contains a subform (datasheet) that displays the available stock to the user and allows the user to select quantities and prices etc.

This has worked fine for the last 8 years in Access 2003 but now, having updated to Access 2013, the subform is inaccessible and greyed out. Instead of the normal tab order taking the focus to the subform, it takes it to the Form Tools, Datasheet tab above the ribbon. Although I can see the subform headers the actual datasheet is greyed out and not accessible.

We have other "New Orders" forms for different product types and customers, and these seem to work ok. I designed the whole thing 8-9 years ago as a total novice and all of the forms/sub form structures were, I thought, the same. Now, just one of them doesn't work properly since the update to Access 2013.
I've compared the properties of the working subforms with the non working one and cannot see any difference. Clearly there is something different though that is causing just one of them not to work.

If anyone has any idea why this might be so, I'd be grateful for your input.

Unfortunately, I'm still a novice as designing databases is not part of my normal job. I know it's likely to be a silly little thing but it's frustrating so any help would be great.

    Thank you in anticipation.

    Paul

Hi Paul. Hard to say with out seeing what you are seeing. Most likely it is a code problem. Does your code compile on this form?

    Hi there
Thanks for getting back to me on this!
It seems after some examination (well, trial and error really) that the problem was caused by the records populating the main form being "sorted" incorrectly.
As said, i originally built all this about 9-10 years ago and now i have no idea why one of these forms had data sorted differently from the others. In truth, I suspect it was more by accident than design.
Anyway, all is well with this issue now and i thank you again for your time.
    Kind regards
