    Cool Chinese Characters on Reports

I have a report that has worked fine for months but suddenly I am getting Chinese characters on one of my reports. These characters are only on two fields. Both of these fields are from the same table and query. They are both "Memo" fields. I am using "Group By" in the query on both. I have included sample attachments.

Seems basic but have you tried a compact/repair.
Also you could try recreating the report - if it worked before then it has possibly become corrupt.

Do you know when this started happening? What data was put in to the database the last time it worked i.e. where did the data come from - has it been copied and pasted from somewhere? Maybe this is a clue.

    Good Luck

Thanks for the response. I tried to compact/repair the database. That didn't work. I tried to delete the fields from the report and recreate them. That didn't work. I looked at the table data. It looks fine. I opened backups going back to before the problem began. They are messed up too. I thought that maybe I got an update from Microsoft that screwed up something in Access. Finally, I found something on Microsoft site that said that this can occur if you have a query that uses "Group by" on a memo field. I checked my query and that was the problem. All is well now.

    Thanks
