    Data behind Pivot tables

    Hi All!

So you know how in Excel pivot tables, you can double-click on a certain cell and then a new tab will pop up, of just all the data that went into that particular cell in that pivot table?

Is there a similar feature for Access pivot tables, to where you can just click on something and see what data made up that value or whatever cell you are looking at? Such as, I don't want to see the entire database that went into making the pivot table, just the few lines that went into a certain value that i want to drill down to.

Thanks so much for any help,
    Ernie

Never used pivot table/form for my own stuff but have seen them. From what I recall, there is the behavior you describe.

You should probably build one and explore its features.

    Thanks,

I have one built currently and am trying to explore, but haven't found that functionality as of yet (if it exists, hoping it does). Thanks for the response!

Quite possibly my memory is faulty. If you want to provide something for analysis, follow instructions at bottom of my post.

Thank you. I dont need anything analyzed, just wanted to see if that functionality existed, and if so, what i needed to do to get it. I will continue to try google and youtube but hopefully somebody will be able to help. Dont think they should need my specific file (which is all confidential info, sadly), in order to do so.

I just did not want to find a table suitable for testing with. But I did anyway.

I used the pivot table field list to add a field to Data Area. I immediately see the aggregate totals. I add the same field as Detail Data. I click the + and this expands the row to show detail values. No other info from detail records shows, just the values from the one field.
