    Buttons not working in access

    Hi,
I have a database file with mdb extension.
This file contains a form with many fields and buttons. The form is working fine on all my users computers except one user. On his PC , when I click on any button, nothing happened.

I am using Access 2002 with Windows XP. Do I have to enable something? What can be wrong? Note that forms created on Excel works fine on his PC.

At a total guess I'd say look at the security settings. It's possibly not letting the forms run any code, so disabling all the functions.

Is that also what the user with the errant database is using? Can they run any other Access app?

When apps run fine on one machine and not on another, or run fine in one version and not when run under a newer version, one the first things you have to think about are missing references.

If you haven't checked for this kind of thing before, here are Doug Steele's detailed instructions on how to troubleshoot the problem:

delete the front end file that is not working; replace with known working front end file.... see if that fixes it....

Which raises the question we really should have started out with; is this a split database?

It is not a split database , it is a front end with SQL server as back end.

    That is a split database.

Any time data tables are separated from the user interface, it is a split db.
How to attach file: http://www.accessforums.net/showthread.php?t=70301 To provide db: copy, remove confidential data, run compact & repair, zip w/Windows Compression.

Next question: Does each user have a copy of the Front End on their hard drives?

I can't believe that restarting the PC solved the issue, it is working now. Thanks for your support guys.
