Recently I asked if it was possible to put a password on tables to be opened and the replies I got was that it was not possible to do this. I wanted to make it so only I would be able to get into the tables to make changes. Actually I don't mind if others view the table just as long as they can't edit the data. The only way I want my staff to be able to enter data is through a Form. The form is the easiest way to enter data for our situation and I think it will prevent a lot of errors if I can make the table locked.
So if this is true that I can't put a password on a table from being opened or edited, is hiding it through Access Options/Current Database the best security for this situation? Removing the navigation pane, access to full menu, disable layout view, etc...I need to find the best way to make it as safe as possible from making mistakes from the data entry clerks. They are not the most tech savvy people and I need this to be simple for them and restrict the database as much as I can to prevent errors.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.
